ANIMOCA BRANDS GRAND PRIX OF ARAGON’S FREE PRACTICES SESSIONS GET UNDERWAY

Jorge Martín was the fastest rider in the first practice session today, Friday, at Motorland Aragón. On Saturday, the Fan Zone, the new MotoGP event, will be located in Grandstand 6 and 7

The day started very interestingly at the circuit in Alcañiz, Aleix Espargaró lead the Aragón Grand Prix FP1 time classification session despite suffering a crash without consequences and some problems with his Aprilia in the final moments of the practice. Pecco Bagnaia and Álex Rins completed the Top 3, less than a tenth of a second behind the Catalan driver. On the other hand, the leader of the championship, Fabio Quartararo, finished eighth the day of the most wanted return to competition of Marc Márquez, who qualified eleventh, just over half a second off the best time.

Jorge Martín left Friday's Aragón MotoGP Grand Prix as the fastest rider of the day in FP2. The Madrid-born rider lowered his FP1 time by almost 2 seconds, which puts him at the front of the combined timesheets for Saturday's session. Fabio Quartararo also made a good step forward, placing second, less than 1 tenth of a second behind the Pramac Ducati rider. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco was third fastest in FP2 and Pecco Bagnaia finished fifth with a competitive Marc Márquez eighth. On the other hand, Aleix Espargaró suffered another crash, he was not harmed. He is out of the top ten to move onto Q2, it all depends on what happens in tomorrow’s FP3.

There was clear dominance of the Spaniards Augusto Fernandez and Arón Canet in Moto2.

The Spanish drivers dominated the first free practice session of the intermediate category. Augusto Fernández dominated the session followed by Arón Canet, Alonso López, Pedro Acosta and Fermín Aldeguer. Fernández, who leads the overall standings, was more than a second ahead of his main rival in the fight for the title, Ai Ogura, who was thirteenth.

The second Moto2 free practice session of the Aragon Grand Prix was once again dominated by Spaniards. This time it was Arón Canet who dominated, followed by the championship leader, Augusto Fernández, just 1 tenth behind. Alonso Lopez completed the Top 3 with the Boscoscuro team. Ai Ogura had to settle for eleventh place, almost 1 second behind.

In FP1, Ayumu Sasaki took the first place after Race Direction deleted Izan Guevara's last lap for exceeding the track limits. Even so, the Gas Gas rider finished second ahead of a good Xavier Artigas on the CFMoto. Sergio García Dols, the Mallorcan's immediate follower in the general classification was seventh, more than half a second off the best time.

Dennis Foggia took a big step forward in the second Moto3 free practice session of the Aragon Grand Prix. The Italian, who has been cutting points to the Gas Gas rider’s, improved his best lap time almost 1 second on his morning time which allows him to top Friday's combined times. Ayumu Sasaki, who had a crash without consequences, and Daniel Holgado, closed the Top 3. Championship leader Izan Guevara was sixth, more than half a second behind the Leopard Racing rider.

The Fan Zone will be used for fun.

Located in Grandstand 6, the fan zone will be accessible to all fans who have a pass or any ticket. It’s an ideal place to meet their favorite riders, with good music and great atmosphere. The new MotoGP event will start tomorrow, Saturday, from 16:30 to 18:00.

MotoGP Saturday Schedule

The circuit will open its doors at 7:00 am and the ticket offices at 8:00 am. The third free practice session of Moto3 will start at 9:00, MotoGP at 9:55 and Moto2 at 10:55.

The first Moto3 qualifying session will start at 12:35 and the last MotoGP free practice at 13:30. The first qualifying of the premier class at 14:10 and the second at 14:35. Moto2 at 15:10 the first one and at 15:35 the second one.

Ticket sales for the different locations continue

Fans will be able to purchase tickets for MotoGP Aragón both at the circuit and online. Tickets are valid for all days of track activity. Seniors over 65 years old and children under 14 years old have free access to Pelouse 4 and 6, as well as special prices in the rest of the grandstands (children under 3 years old will enter free of charge, but without the right to occupy a seat).
